Green Mountain Gymnastics
Williston Early Childhood Connection Open Gym Rules
September 2007
  • Parking for GMG is in front of the GMG space or along side of the building. Please respect the other businesses and do not park in front of their space.
  • Please put all shoes or boots on the rack in the front entryway. If the boot rack is full, take them upstairs.
  • Please bring clothing upstairs. Cubbies that have names on them belong to individuals and we ask that nothing be placed in those. You are welcome to hang coats on racks or use cubbies without names.
  • Waiver forms are to be signed by both parents or legal guardians.
  • For the safety of everyone, parents are not allowed on equipment. We do not provide staffing for adult supervision. Your role is to make sure that your children are able to explore and move safely throughout the gym on the equipment. We are concerned about the liability of adults and ask that you please make sure and follow these rules.
  • No food, drink, gum, candy, markers or crayons allowed on gym floor or upstairs. Food should only be eaten in the front lobby.
  • Please do not change diapers on the gym floor. There is a changing table in the downstairs bathroom and dirty diapers are to be taken away with you!
  • Please no clothing with buckles, zippers, snaps or belts. This can damage equipment. You will be asked to change or will not be allowed on gym floor if this type of clothing is worn.
  • No child is allowed off or on the gym floor without adult supervision, even if just going to the bathroom or water fountain.
  • At all times, all gym rules are to be followed. If a staff member feels at anytime you are compromising the safety of your child or not following gym rules, you will be given a warning and on the 2nd offense you will be asked to leave. Participation in the program for the remainder of the session will no longer be allowed.
  • For the safety of everyone, we may need to cap out on the number of participants. If this does occur and you are not allowed entrance in the gym, you may need to wait till someone leaves to then be allowed entrance to the gym.
  • Make sure that the pit is clear before jumping in. When jumping in the pit, please instruct your child to jump feet first (Like a pencil!) The pit does require your full supervision. Heads must stay above the foam cubes. No digging or burying.
  • When spotting on balance beam, please hold them at the waist, not from the arm, wrist or hand.
  • When using the Tumble-Trak (long Trampoline), traffic travels in one direction (see the arrows on the wall). No more then 1 person should be traveling across the tumble-Trak at a time. They must start on the take off platform and exit on the opposite end where the landing mat is.
  • If there is anything that you see that you feel is unsafe, please bring it to the attention of a staff member immediately!
  • If equipment is posted or WCC staff states that a piece of equipment is not to be used during gym time, please respect that rule.
  • If you would like to use something that is not set up for your use, please ask the staff person. This includes, stamps, puzzle pieces, balls, musical instruments etc.
  • Your help in cleaning up the gym at the end of gym time would be greatly appreciated.

Green Mountain Gymnastics has provided a wonderful space and opportunity for your children to come together to play for this season and we would appreciate your commitment to the above gym rules. Enforcing the above rules provides a safe place for all individuals and hopefully a continued allowance of use of GMG.
